Presidents come and go!

In the late 80s, I remember as a schoolboy, the then President Giani Zail Singh once visited our school/college auditorium and planted a sapling. Whenever we played sports, the football scaled a distance and precisely targeted the plant. The caretaker of the auditorium who stayed at the rear end used to shout at us. Sometimes the ball got mixed up in the rubbles of bones in the adjoining burial ground and was retrieved only to get smeared with burnt ashes. I am not sure if the burial ground exists now opposite Rane (Madras).
The auditorium was big enough to accommodate the whole school and college during examinations. When I studied, the school and college functioned in the same building. My 9th standard classroom and the seat where I once sat became my favourite seat even years later it became the classroom for BSc (Physics) - III year. I enjoyed the serene nature in the midst of green wild. Soon after the rains, we were engulfed in the herbal air that was strong to inhale. Today the school has its own building, college is autonomous and co-ed. The auditorium has been reconstructed.
In today’s newspaper, I read that our President Mr.Ramnath Govind is going to attend the Annual Convocation Day at Gurunanak College. Your Excellency, welcome to my alma mater. Is there any idea of planting a tree sapling at the newly constructed Guru Amardas Block Auditorium?
