Do you remember this? The unforgettable characters in 'The Adventures of Tintin' comic series that we enjoyed in childhood. A pleasure to read, again and again, to turn over the big size pages filled with excellent colours of the Belgian cartoonist Herge... really nostalgic.

It was an era when we were surrounded by all sorts of Tamil and English comic books.The book price of Tintin was unaffordably costly and it was always in circulation among friends. The final rounds of the book made its turn with cello tapes here and there. The comic had a power to transport us to the adventure world instantaneously. JK Rowling's Harry Potter series made its entry decades later. Though I did not read Potter, I can say Tintin was apt to capture kids during school vacation. It did not have lengthy prose narration or running story in high language. The storyboard was very impressively laid with small dialogues. Tintin is a treasure for all times.
